AMMONIUM SULFATE (N21, S24)

Macronutrient fertilizer AMMONIUM SULFATE.

Ammonium sulfate is one of the most popular fertilizers in agriculture. Nitrogen in the fertilizer is in the form of ammoniacal nitrogen, which means that the plants take the nitrogen out of the fertilizer slowly. Fertilization of winter cereals in the spring with ammonium sulphate is recommended to be combined with fertilization with ammonium nitrate (NP 33: 3 or N34.4) or another fertilizer containing nitrate nitrogen to give the plants rapid access to the nitrogen form. The sulfur in the fertilizer is needed by all plants because it is part of some of the important amino acids that plants synthesize.
